Stand on the edge looking down into a vivid green lake
in this enormous crater. Make a stop in Sarchí
to see local craftsmen create the colorful and traditional
hand-painted oxcarts. For those seeking a more adventurous
tour, the Canopy Tour offers an exhilarating one, traversing
the rainforest, high in the canopy for a birds eye
view. Or, take a trip to the active Irazú Volcano.
Walk along the edge and observe the drastic changes that
have appeared due to eruptions. Continue to the Orosi
Valley, home of the first Spanish settlers. Make a stop
at Lankaster Gardens with over 800 species of native and
exotic orchids. Overnight in San José. |

This
morning embark on your adventure to the famous Tortuguero
Canals where the leatherback turtles lay their eggs on
the protected beaches. Visit a banana plantation packing

dense rainforest abundant with wildlife to get to your
hotel. In the evening, youll be treated to a slide
show and presentation by a resident biologist on Tortugueros
natural history. Overnight in Tortuguero. |

remote areas of the Tortuguero canals where only small
boats can weave through this lush region, allowing you
