Nowhere
is the earth's diversity more apparent than in the rich
and colorful nation of Costa Rica. It's the perfect place
for you to experience the vacation of a lifetime. All of
nature's perfection and splendor come together here, making
your vacation possibilities endless. Glide through the rainforest
on an aerial tram. Dine at the base of Arenal Volcano as
you watch her fireworks illuminate the night sky. Discover
a waterfall in a secluded rainforest. Hit the high seas
for Marlin in some of the best sportfishing waters in the
world. Visit a butterfly farm, dive a coral reef, bike a
volcano, white water raft the rapids, hike the rainforest
or kayak the coast. You'll never run out of excursions and
adventures in Costa Rica.
Nestled
between North and South America on the Central American
peninsula, Costa Rica forms a lush living bridge of flora
and fauna between North and South. You will find animals
that have evolved nowhere else in the world like dantas,
pacas and agoutis to name a few. See colorful toucans, playful
monkeys, nocturnal three-toed tree sloths, and majestic
butterflies.
The
people of Costa Rica, fondly known as "Ticos,"
are a warm, casual and friendly group, pleased to share
the beauty of the homeland with visitors. An independent
nation, the Ticos are proud of their independence and their
democratic existence. Costa Rica is not only a democracy,
but a disarmed democracy peaceful in nature, and
army-less by choice. It is one of the few truly neutral
nations, (having abolished their army in 1948), preferring
to channel their resources into health, education and preservation
of the environment.
Costa Rica enjoys a privileged climate with just two seasons
(dry season and green season). The dry season is from December
to April and the Green season is from May to November. The
Green season brings daily showers in the afternoon. Temperatures
remain nearly constant in Costa Rica, with most areas ranging
from the mid-70s to mid-80s. Lowland temperature are slightly
higher and nightly temperatures in the mountains can be
in the 50s.
With a favorable climate, friendly people, exciting species
of animals, and a nation filled with natural wonders, what
more could you ask for in a vacation?
