Depart
USA for San José, Costa Rica. Upon arrival, you
will be met by a Passport Costa Rica Tours Representative
and transferred to your hotel. After checking in you will
have the balance of the day to begin exploring the capital
city of San José. Overnight in San José.

This
morning, you head to Puntarenas for a day of unforgettable
ocean adventure aboard the Calypsos Manta Ray, a
catamaran featuring music, an on-board bartender, tropical
fruits and snacks, and an expansive deck with 2 jacuzzi
pools. Sail to the white sand of Tortuga Island, and youll
disembark directly onto the beach where you will be served
a scrumptious mid-day buffet feast. Snorkeling, swimming

are many optional excursions available to you today. Ride
the rapids of one of the many rivers of Costa Rica. Or

showcase for the equestrian arts and the unique traditions

morning, travel to the Northern Plains region, home of
the imposing Arenal Volcano, one of the most active volcanos
in the world. Bask in the therapeutic hot springs of Tabacón
surrounded by a lush tropical Eden. You may want to treat
yourself to a relaxing massage or mud treatment the spa
offers. Enjoy dinner while viewing the mighty Arenal,
as she rumbles and puts on a fireworks display of brilliant
colors against the night sky which will amaze and delight

Today you have a choice of many optional
activities. Birders and naturalists may migrate toward
Caño Negro Wildlife Refuge near the Nicaraguan
border, a nesting area for many aquatic birds sharing
their homes with caimans and crocodiles. Or you might
try a horseback riding adventure into the forest to
the beautiful waterfalls of Río Fortuna where
you can swim in this tropical paradise. Overnight Arenal

Today
you will be transferred to Guanacaste. Known for its beautiful
beaches and wonderful, diverse watersports, this region
is a sun lovers paradise. After you arrive and settle
into your hotel, you might try an optional excursion such
as horseback riding with a genuine Guanacastean Cowboy,
or the evening Turtle Nesting Tour to watch these amazing
prehistoric creatures, some over 6 feet in length, arrive
to nest in their natural setting. Overnight in Guanacaste. |

you have a choice of two exciting tours. Rincón
de la Vieja National Park is an area of austere beauty
where you can either hike or travel by horseback to the
waterfalls, hot springs and mud baths. Or cruise the Tempisque
River in Palo Verde National Park, a bird watchers
paradise. A delightful, relaxing boat cruise slowly explores
this area where crocodiles bask in the sun while monkeys
sprint through the branches above. Return to you hotel
after your chosen adventure. Overnight in Guanacaste. |

Today
is a day of leisure, but there are many optional adventures
to choose from, such as White Water Rafting, ranging from
Class I to Class V, suitable for all levels of experience.
Perhaps a visit to folkloric Guaitíl to watch the
indigenous Chorotega Indians making pottery using the
same techniques as their Pre-Columbian ancestors. Or simply
choose to bask in the wonderful sun and work on that tan.
